April Weather In Destin

April in Destin can mean chilly waters but in no way means chilly weather.

The winter season will be ending abruptly in March, along with some lingering rainy weather...comes with the season.

Even though the gulf can be a bit chilly for swimming in April, its not for the kiddos, they usually do not care and run into that water without hesitation. It can still get pretty warm in that sun on the white beach so, you never know you may want a dip in the ocean after a long tan. I should mention that plenty of people will find the water comfortable in April regardless, (just not me).

The average temperatures in April jump quite a bit from March. It will be warmer during the day and not get as cold at night but you should still expect to need a light sweater most evenings when the sun goes down.

The sunsets are beautiful in April and usually show their beauty around 7-715pm right after or during your dinner. So, if you can, get dinner atleast a few times directly on the water after 6pm so you can enjoy these sunsets with your dinner and drinks.

Destin Averages:
-April Average High: 72
-April Average Low: 50
-April Average Gulf Water Temperature: 67 (Chilly)
-April Average Rainfall: 5.0

P.S. The photo attached is a recent photo I have taken near Harborwalk Village. The sunsets have been this way all month!
